Alton Decorative and Fine Arts Society

About Us

ADFAS was founded in 1998 as a Member society (number 303) of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS). Our aim is to provide an opportunity for the appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts and we work towards this by providing lectures, study days, visits and tours.

NADFAS Review

NADFAS produces a magazine which is sent to member's home addresses. It is published quarterly and provides news of NADFAS activities nationally, as well as features on a range of topics including exhibitions or artists with significant anniversaries.

Hampshire Area

ADFAS is part of the Hampshire area composed of 19 societies on the mainland and two on the Isle of Wight. Representatives from the groups meet twice a year in Romsey for mutual support, the exchange of information and at other times for training courses relevant to Committee members. A number of area study courses are arranged on a variety of related topics - generally in Winchester.
